最近在网上关于中国女孩乘坐维珍航空被无理对待,被骂“中国猪”的事件得到很多国内外的华人关注!相信大家也都知道事情的起始经过吧!虽然说维珍的老板也发Twitter说要认真严肃调查此事,但当我们这些海外学子遇到种族歧视时,到底要怎么保护自己呢!今天我们就来讨论讨论!

1.首先什么是种族歧视(Race discrimination)呢?

种族歧视是因为你的种族或者肤色,国籍,种族,民族的起源而受到不公平待遇!

而在英国,有一个2010平等法案(Equality Act 2010)‘这是一个能让所有在英人群,在面临各类歧视时可以寻求保护的法案。所有在2010年10月1日之后受不公正待遇的人都可以根据此法案对其收到的不公正待遇进行控诉。


2.种族歧视发生在以下任何一种情况下,它都是非法的:、

1. 就业和培训

2. 教育

3. 提供货物和服务,例如,银行,娱乐和运输时

4. 住房

5. 任何公共机构,如NHS,政府部门,地方当局,警察和监狱采取的行动。


3.我们英国生活中可能遭遇的种族歧视:

1.例如我们在上学的路上,遭到马路上司机的谩骂和扔东西!

2.例如我们在超市结账后,会被保安拦住检查背包和物品!

3.例如我们在超市结账使用信用卡时,要求出示护照!

4.例如我们在餐馆排队时,被服务员故意忽视,置之不理!

5.例如我们去餐馆吃饭时,明明有空座,却被告知满了,需要等待,可后面来的白人可以直接入座!

6.例如我们去打工时,被恶意克扣工钱或者遭到老板的欺负!

7.例如某些公司或者组织拒绝为我们提供设施或服务,因为我们的肤色!


当然种族歧视的行为还有很多很多,我们华人学生应该要学会保护自己,而不是默默忍受,当然宽容大度一直是我们中华民族的传统美德;但当我们遭遇恶略情况时,一定要站起来阻止!



4.当族歧视发生时,如何保护我们自己?

1. 与歧视你的人或组织进行沟通,投诉!

(当面警告歧视你的人,你知道如何投诉他,如何报警)

2. 通过媒体宣传你的情况

(就像这次维珍事件,我们也可以通过微博,脸书等大型媒体宣传你的情况)

4. 通过法院采取法律行动

(可以先电话咨询一些在英国工作的华人律师)

5. 提交问题的详细信息到的”平等和人权委员会“,如果你认为这个问题是普遍存在的。www.equalityhumanrights.com. 或者 http://www.equalityadvisoryservice.com/app/ask 或者使他们的免费电话0808 800 0082,针对个人情况进行咨询。
